Yu, Bian is a doctorate winner who was supported by funds from China Scholarship Council and received Sino-US joint cultivation for doctorate degree program. He has successfully initiated 3 provincial research projects including the project sponsored by China General Sports Administration and the project by Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and also has over ten articles published in CSSCI journals including Journal of Beijing Sports University and Journal of Physical Education respectively. In 2015, Dr. Bian was awarded Outstanding Sports Staff member in science and engineering colleges and universities affiliated with Ministry of Education. Now he serves as the Deputy Secretary General of Physique and Health Committee in Guangdong Fit-keeping Association, and a council member of Energy and Conditioning Association, Guangdong Province.
