报告摘要:I will present a two-part series titled Lectures on Elliptic Systems I & II. Part I will provide an overview of the topic, while Part II will delve into the elliptic lattice KdV. Following this, I will deliver another two-part series titled Lectures on Lagrangian Multi-forms I & II. Part I will serve as an introduction to Lagrangian 1-forms and 2-forms, and Part II will focus on the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (KP) equation and Lagrangian 3-forms.

报告人简介:Emer. Prof. Frank Nijhoff (University of Leeds), a Fellow of the Institute of Physics, FInstP, and life member of the IAMP (International Association of Mathematical Physics), obtained

his Doctorate in the Faculy of Science and Mathematics at the University of Leiden, The Netherlands in 1984, where he had studied Theoretical Physics and Mathematics from 1974 to 1979

(Masters degree) and PhD studies on superfluid Helium3 from 1979 until 1984. He went on to a postdoc in Mathematics at the University of Utrecht from 1984 to 1986, after which he obtained a research position until 1987 at the Universite Paris VI in France, and subsequently an assistant professorship at Clarkson University, Potsdam, New York, USA. He gained an Alexander von Humboldt Fellowships (Paderborn, Germany) 1993-1994, after which he moved to Leeds University UK in 1994, where he was promoted to full professor in 2000, and where he remained until his retirement in 2023. He attained several awards: a distinguished fellowship at the Institute for Advanced Study at LaTrobe University, Melbourne, Australia, and Royal Society/ Leverhulme Trust Senior Research Fellowship 2011-12, and a research fellowhsip at the SMRI (Syney Mathematical Research Institute, Sydney Australia) in 2022, as well as several visiting professorships (at University of Lecce, Italy, 1986, KMUTT, Bangkok, Thailand, University of Shanghai). He has been a senior editor of several scientific journals (Journal of Physics A, Journal of Integrable Systems, Mathematical Physics, Analysis and Geometry (MPAG)) and has been the Chair of the International Steering Committee for the SIDE (Symmetries & Integrability of Difference Equations) series of conferences since 1996. He has published about 150 papers, including three monographs, in the area of Mathematical Physics and in particular Integrable Systems.
