报告题目:Almost-exponential moments of the inelastic Boltzmann equation for hard potentials without angular cutoff


报告摘要:This talk is concerned with the inelastic homogeneous Boltzmann equation without angular cutoff. We establish the global-in-time existence of measure-valued solutions under the generic hard potential long-range interaction on the collision kernel. In addition, we provide a rigorous proof for the creation of almost exponential moments of the measure-valued solutions, which is a special property that can only be expected from hard potential collisional cross-sections, the proof of which rely crucially on the establishment of a sharper Povzner-type inequality. This talk is based on the joint work with Jin Woo Jang (POSTECH).

报告题目:Large Amplitude Solutions in L^p_vL^\infty_TL^\infty_x to the Boltzmann Equation for Soft Potentials


报告摘要:We consider the Cauchy problem on the angular cutoff Boltzmann equation near global Maxwillians for soft potentials either in the whole space or in the torus. We establish the existence of global unique mild solutions in the space L^p_vL^/infty_TL^/infty_x with polynomial velocity weights for suitably large p \leq \infty, whenever for the initial perturbation the weighted L^p_vL^/infty_x norm can be arbitrarily large but the L^1_xL^\infty_v norm and the defect mass, energy and entropy are sufficiently small.
