报告摘要：Organisms exploit resources to persist, they compete with each other for survival, and sometimes even evolve themselves to adapt to the changing environment. In this talk I will first discuss some mathematical model introduced by Perthame and Souganidis, aiming to understand the evolution of movement in population dynamics. The second model, due to Jinzhi Lei, concerns stem cell regeneration with epigenetic transitions and gene mutations. These models both address persistence, competition and evolution of organisms, and thus give arise to some “similar” nonlinear integro-differential equations. Some mathematical analysis of these models will also be presented..

报告人简介：楼元教授，1984-1991年就读于北京大学数学系，获学士和硕士学位。1991-1995年就读于美国明尼苏达大学数学系并获博士学位。他曾在MSRI（1995-96年）和芝加哥大学（1996-98年）做博士后，1998-2021年任教于俄亥俄州立大学数学系，曾任美国数学生物研究所副所长，现为上海交通大学数学科学学院讲席教授。 研究兴趣是反应扩散方程及在生物学中的应用，发表学术论文130余篇，目前担任CSIAM-AM、J. Differential Equations、J. Math. Biol.、SIAM J. Appl. Math.等多个国内外期刊编委以及DCDS-B系列的共同主编。
