报告摘要：

In this talk, we will present asymptotic analysis of the PNP and a modified PNP systems. We show that computational costs can be greatly reduced with the reduced electroneutral model of the PNP system. For a modified PNP system, we show that selectivity of the KcsA channel can be explained quantitatively using the asymptotic solution. In addition, a hybrid asymptotic-numerical method can be used to overcome the computational difficulty associated with large values of the fixed charge. Applications of the reduced PNP will be briefly discussed, if time permits.

报告人简介：

黄华雄教授现任北京师范大学-香港浸会大学联合国际学院副校长（学术）、理工科技学部院长。黄华雄教授获复旦大学数学学士学位，加拿大英属哥伦比亚大学应用数学研究所博士学位。在加入北师港浸大之前，他是加拿大约克大学的教授。

黄教授是加拿大知名工业应用数学家，享有国际声誉。他的研究涉及广泛的主题，包括流体力学和科学计算，以及它们在金融、生物、生理学和医学的应用。黄教授发表了100多篇论文，同时担任多家学术期刊的编委。

黄教授曾作为日本学术振兴会(JSPS)海外访问研究员访问东京大学，先后三次任新西兰坎特伯雷大学厄斯金访问教授，还曾任巴黎第六大学的访问教授。黄教授是加拿大工业应用数学菲尔兹奖的获得者，他是菲尔兹数学科学研究所的终身研究员，并在2016-2019期间出任研究所常务副所长一职。
