Inthis talk we study a finite difference method for distributed-ordersub-diffusion equations in Caputo's form. The fractional Caputoderivative is approximated by the Caputo's BDF2 approximations, whichare constructed by piecewise quadratic interpolating polynomials. Themethod can be showed to be stable and convergent in the discrete$H^1$ norm by using the discrete energy method. For problems ofdistributed order within a certain region, the method is also provento preserve the discrete maximum principle. Numericalexperiments are provided to show the effectiveness ofnumerical schemes.
