Inthis talk, we study a certain deformation of the Virasoro algebrathat was introduced and called q-Virasoro algebra by Belov andChaltikian, in the context of vertex algebra. In the process,the relation between q-Virasoro algebra and affine Kac-Moody algebraof type
B_{l}^{(1)}was obtained. This is a joint work with Hongyan Guo, Haisheng Li andShaobin Tan.
