报告摘要:
Boundary effectsare central to the dynamics of the dilute particles governed byBoltzmann equation. In this talk, we will report some recent studieson both the diffuse reflection and the specular reflection boundaryvalue problems for Boltzmann equation with soft potential. For thediffuse reflection boundary condition, we capture some new propertiesof the probability integrals along the stochastic cycles and improvethe $L^2-L^\infty$ theory to give a more direct approach to obtainthe global existence and time decay rate. As to the specularreflection condition, our key contribution is to develop a newtime-velocity weighted $L^\infty$ theory so that we could deal withthe greater difficulties stemmed from the
complicated velocityrelations among the specular cycles and the zero lower bound of thecollision frequency. These methods in the latter case can be appliedto the Boltzmann equation with soft potential for all other types ofboundary condition.
