学术报告报告一题目：数学中的辩证性

报告摘要：
这是一个关于数学哲学的话题，一个对数学的对象、内容、方法与思想的观察视角，将用简单的数学解读数学中的辩证性。
数学与哲学自古是一家。哲学关注真善美，强调事物发展的辩证关系，对立统一。数学中的辩证性是自然与社会系统辩证性的本质反映。数学的概念、理论、方法与思想，处处体现着辩证性。本讲座将从“动中有静，变中有恒，乱中有序，异中有同，情中有理，理中有用”六个方面来对数学中的辩证性加以解读。通过讲座可以领会到数学的实质与价值，欣赏到数学的美丽与神奇，感受到数学的魅力与威力。
讲座有观点、有案例、有解析，漫谈但不失严谨，通俗却不免深刻，科学又不乏趣味。
报告二题目：Onthe worst-case complexity of nonlinear stepsize
control algorithms forunconstrained optimization

报告摘要：
A nonlinear stepsize controlframework for unconstrained optimization was pro-posed by Toint(Optim Methods Softw 28:8295, 2013), generalizing many trust-regionand regularization algorithms. More recently, Grapiglia, Yuan andYuan (Math. Program. DOI 10.1007/s10107-014-0794-9) proved worst-casecomplexity bounds for this family of algorithms in the context ofnonconvex problems. In this paper, certain classes of nonlinearstepsize control algorithms are shown to have improved worst-casecomplexity when applied to more speci_c types of problems, includingconvex and strongly convex ones.
