报告摘要:Inthis talk, we present an age-structured type evolutionaryepidemiological model of influenza A drift, in which the susceptibleclass is continually replenished because the pathogen changesgenetically and immunologically from one epidemic to the next,causing previously immune hosts to become susceptible. Applying ourrecent established center manifold theory for semilinear equationswith non-dense domain, we show that Hopf bifurcation occurs in themodel. This demonstrates that the age-structured type evolutionaryepidemiological model of influenza A drift has an intrinsic tendencyto oscillate due to the evolutionary and/or immunological changes ofthe influenza viruses. We will also briefly talk about modeling theH1N1 influenza A pandemic in 2009 and the H7N9 avian influenza Aoutbreak in China in 2013.
