报告摘要：

     Random fields arise naturally in probability theory, statistics and in various applications. In particular, they serve as spatial or spatio-temporal models in geophysical and environmental sciences. In recent years there has been increasing interest and extensive studies on random fields. 

   The lectures will provide an introduction on theory of Gaussian random fields. We will cover the following topics: Construction of (Gaussian) random fields; General methods; Regularity properties; Geometric properties.

 

报告人简介：

    肖益民教授现任密西根州立大学统计概率系执行系主任，主要从事随机场（包括高斯场，定随机场,无穷可分随机场）的分形几何、位势理论和连续时间随机游动方面的研究。近年来对小波理论和强相依随机变量序列的极限理论在非参数回归分析及随机场在空间统计中的应用进行研究，取得了一系列具有国际先进水平的研究成果。他多年来对随机场（包括高斯场，或更一般的无穷可分随机场及随机偏微分方程的解）进行了深入的研究。通过结合高斯过程和马氏过程（特别是Lévy过程）的理论方法,在随机场的轨道的精细性质（如轨道函数的几何分析性质）位势理论,极限理论等方面取得了一系列重要成果，发展了研究随机场的工具，促进了随机场理论在其它领域中的应用。他连续主持美国国家自然科学基金多项，系美国数理统计学会会士，SCI杂志《Statistics and Probability Letters》共同主编，是许多国际一流数学杂志的编委或审稿人，如《Annals of Probability》，《Annals of  Applied Probability》，《Transactions of the AMS》, 《Probability Theory and Related Fields》,《Journal of London Mathematical Society》等。
