报告摘要1:Abstract. We will illustrate a classical problem, that is the solution, by the double-layer potential method, of the Dirichlet and Neumann problems for a domain in Rn+1. When is a bounded, regular, open set, say C1+_ class for some _ > 0; the operator studied is compact, so Fredholm theory allows one to solve the problem. When is just of class C1, or of class Lipschitz, the operator is a singular integral. Calder_on's research programme was to solve this problem. In this talk, we describe how this problem was solved by Calder_on, Coifman, McIntosh, Meyer, Verchota, Dalhberg and Kenig.

In this talk we start with a basic formulation for two-fluid gas-liquid flow. In order to
motivate for further work on mathematical analysis of the compressible two-fluid model, we briefly discuss four different applications of the two-fluid model:
two examples from fluid mechanics and two examples from life science (study of living organisms).
