Research Achievement

Dr.Mert’ s field of research is geotechnical reliability analysis and computational geomechanics. He took part in wide range of numerical analysis projects after his undergraduate study during his employment as a Research Assistant. He participated in modeling many projects with the geotechnical engineering team at his university such as soil-subway tunnel interaction, 2D and 3D deep excavation design, shallow and deep design, landslides and remediation of slopes, marine structure design, seepage analysis for walls and earth dams using finite element method (FEM). His master' s and doctoral studies also aimed to reach conclusions by computational geomechanics using laboratory and field test databases as inputs. During his doctoral study, he focused on random fields, geotechnical reliability analysis, sources of uncertainties in ground conditions, inherent spatial variability of soil and rocks, and methods for quantifying spatial variability of soils in numerical analyses that meet one of your preferred fields for the position. There are over 200 projects in this context that he has completely executed the FEM modeling and analysis parts. He has consulted and prepared reports for local and international geotechnical projects.
