South China University of Technology Attends the Plaque Presentation of a New Confucius Institute at the 2025 World Chinese Language Conference

From November 14 to 16, the 2025 World Chinese Language Conference was grandly held at the National Convention Center in Beijing. Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. The conference, themed “Innovation Leads, AI Empowers: Learning Chinese Language without Borders”, attracted approximately 2,000 government officials, experts, scholars, university leaders, and representatives from international organizations at home and abroad to the opening ceremony.



Li Weiqing, the Vice President of South China University of Technology, attended the conference. At the special session on “The Inheritance and Development of Confucius Institutes: Entering the New 20 Years”, Li Weiqing and Eugenio Di Sciascio, Vice President of Politecnico di Bari in Italy, jointly attended the plaque presentation ceremony for the newly established Confucius Institute and accepted the plaque on behalf of their respective universities.

 

This Confucius Institute is the third one established by South China University of Technology in Europe. In the future, the university will fully integrate the unique resources of each Confucius Institute, continuously strengthen the function of this platform as a bond, and further promote in-depth cooperation with European partner universities in the fields of cultural exchanges, educational cooperation, and technological innovation.
