On 27 September, the Second International Conference for Training Excellent Engineers convened in Beijing. Comprising a main session and three parallel sessions, the conference drew over 120 participants from more than 30 countries and regions, including representatives from universities, enterprises, research institutions, and professional associations.

At the main session, Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng highlighted that engineering education faces new opportunities and challenges, necessitating reform and innovation. He proposed three initiatives: jointly establishing international quality standards for engineering education, exploring pathways for engineering education transformation in the intelligent era, and building an open and inclusive international engineering education cooperation network.

During the event, the China Association for Science and Technology, the China Engineering Education Accreditation Association, and the International Engineering Alliance signed a joint declaration to initiate the development of an international mutual recognition agreement for postgraduate-level engineering education, thereby addressing the global gap in mutual recognition of high-level engineering talent.
