Professor Rongchun Zhang received his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Physics from Nankai University (China) in 2009 and 2014, respectively. From 2014 to 2016, he was a postdoc fellow in Prof. Ayyalusamy Ramamoorthy’s group at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (USA), working on solid-state NMR methodologies. From 2016 to 2018, he was a postdoc fellow in Prof. Pingchuan Sun’s group in Nankai University (China), working on polymer characterizations by solid-state NMR spectroscopy. In 2018, he joined South China Advanced Institute for Soft Matter Science and Technology (AISMST) in South China University of Technology as an independent PI. The research interests of his group are mainly focused on the development and applications of cutting-edge solidstate NMR spectroscopy in polymers. He is the author or co-author of more than 100 peer-reviewed scientific publications.
Prof. Rongchun Zhang's research interests center on the applications of solid-state NMR spectroscopy in elucidating the structure-property-function relationship of polymer materials. He is particularly interested in developing novel solid-state NMR methods for elucidating the influence of dynamic bonds on the heterogeneous structures of polymer networks as well as the segmental dynamics, and then developing functional polymer materials with unique topology and viscoelastic properties.
