About the speaker:
Dr. Roman is a Research Group Leader for Food Transformation in Sydney University. His Group focuses on the development of sustainable processing platform technologies and services that deliver sustainable gains in productivity and efficiency across the food value-chain. Roman has a PhD in Food Engineering from the Berlin University of Technology, Germany, and once held a number of leadership positions at CSIRO in project management, resource management and strategic planning. Roman’s research interests include sustainable food manufacture, design of new food structures and textures, and the development of safe and healthy food ingredients and products through advanced food processing technologies. He has actively carry-out research work in these areas, most of which is published in his approximately 90 Journal articles and book chapters. Roman is currently the president of the International Association of Engineering and Food and the Australian Food Engineering Association.
