Professor Jiasheng Wang from University of Georgia visited our School as an oversea lecturer from May 19 to June 2, and gave a series of lectures on food toxicology for both of graduate students and undergraduate students.

At June 1st, he gave an academic lecture with the title of ‘Modulation of Toxic Effects and Human Disease Risks with Active Food Components and Natural Products’ in the classroom 503 of Building No.34. More than 100 teachers and students attended this lecture. The meeting was hosted by Professor Li Li.

During the presentation, Professor Wang gave an introduction on his research interests, which including food safety and toxic effects of foodborne toxicants, chemical carcinogenesis and chronic diseases prevention. Professor Wang shared his novel searches of tea polyphenols and lycopene.
The lecture was very impressive and meaningful. Professor Wang made a discussion with audiences and gave his suggestions to students in solving researches difficulties. Both Professor Wang and our school believed this academic presentation would improve communication in the area of food nutrition and food safety. (by Yin Zheng)
