On October 16thand 23th 2017,Dr. Da Qi, a Senior Research Associate from the University of Liverpool, had visited School of Food Science and Engineering, South China University of Technology, and presented two public seminars with the topic as Genomic, Transcriptomic and Proteomic on Foodborne Bacteriaand Application of Proteomics Software in Detection of Foodborne Pathogens.
Dr. Da Qi is a famous specialist in the area of integration of proteomics and genomics. His focuses on bioinformatics, computational proteomics, software development, as well as medical image analysis. He participated in some important projects, including the EU seventh framework project-ProteomeXchange and Large scale dynamic integration of proteomics and genomics to support next generation rice research which earns him the reputation in the related fields.
Dr. Da Qi was invited by Prof. Lin Li, Bing Li and Dr. Zhenbo Xu from School of Food Science and Engineering, South China University of Technology, to give the presentation about the current research of integration of proteomics and genomics and future prospective. During the presentation, Dr. Da Qi shared the current status and achievements of proteomics application in rice research. And then Dr. Da Qi answered the students’ questions and gave his suggestions about the project and research progress. After that he shared his study experience for those who want to study abroad for a long time. Both Dr. Da Qi and the audience found it meaningful to attend the presentation. (by Ruirui Xu)
