Abstract
On June 24th, 2011, Professor Jay J Cheng, from North Carolina State University, USA, visited the State Key Laboratory of Pulp and Paper Engineering and gave a seminar about the Status and Challenges of Biofuel Production in future. Many faculties and students from our school and others attended the seminar. On the seminar, Professor Cheng introduced the status of technology for biofuel production from biomass in USA and the achievement in his research group. Finally, he proposed the challenge and gave an outlook about biofuel in the future. Students and teachers were very interested in the seminar and discussed actively with Professor Cheng around one hour.
