[Good News] School of Environment and Energy, South China University of Technology Wins Outstanding Achievements in the Final of the 13th "Esquel National Creative Competition"

On August 1, 2025, the final of the 13th "Esquel National Creative Competition" successfully concluded in Gaoming District, Foshan City. This competition attracted nearly 2,200 college students in total. After selection through multiple rounds including audition, preliminary competition and university-level final, 15 teams from 7 universities finally stood out and entered the final. 

After fierce competition, the entry Defeating the "Formaldehyde" World - Biomimetic Nanoflower Photocatalyst High-Efficiency Formaldehyde Removal Device by Shi Mengyi from the School of Environment and Energy, South China University of Technology won the First Prize and the Most Entrepreneurial Potential Award of the competition; the entry "Red Bacteria" Breaking the Shackles of Pollution Control - Performance Instability and Activity Recovery Strategy of Aerobic-Stressed Anammox Under Low-Concentration Ammonia Nitrogen Wastewater by Li Dengying and Zhong Minhua won the Third Prize of the competition.

Student Projects of the School of Environment and Energy Win First Prize and Third Prize in the "Esquel National Creative Competition" Respectively


The "Esquel National Creative Competition" is an annual creative event co-hosted by Esquel Group and various universities. It aims to stimulate college students' awareness of innovation, promote the in-depth integration of technological innovation and industrial needs, build an interactive platform for university-enterprise exchanges, and facilitate the incubation and implementation of innovative achievements.

The School of Environment and Energy attaches great importance to students' innovation and entrepreneurship. It encourages students to combine scientific research achievements with production practice, builds a teacher-student exchange platform through the "Energy Gathering Ring" lunch meeting, and holds various school-level innovation and entrepreneurship competitions to help students achieve new breakthroughs in innovation and entrepreneurship competitions.
