To actively expand Guangzhou's environmental protection industry, foster innovative environmental protection enterprises, promote the transformation and application of technological achievements, and meet the needs of the ecological construction of 'Beautiful Guangdong' and the construction of a world-class beautiful Greater Bay Area, the Symposium on Planning of Panyu District Eco-Environmental Protection Industrial Park was held in Conference Room 308 of our School on the afternoon of July 11, 2025. Attendees included Chen Jingxuan, Director of the Ecological Environment Monitoring and Science & Technology Department of Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment; Xie Bonian, Second-Level Researcher; representatives from units such as School of Environment and Energy of South China University of Technology, School of Geography and Environmental Economics of Guangdong University of Finance and Economics,Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences Environment Technology Engineering Co., Ltd., CCIEE Overseas Consulting Co., Ltd., Chuangyuan Low-Carbon Technology (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd., and Guangdong International Engineering Consulting Co., Ltd.; as well as relevant comrades from Panyu District Investment Promotion Office, Panyu Branch of Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment, and the Ecological Environment Monitoring and Science & Technology Department of Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment. The symposium was hosted by Zhu Suqin, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of Panyu Branch of Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment. Professor Zhu Nengwu, Secretary of the Party Committee of our School; Professor Qiu Guanglei, Vice Dean of our School; and Professors Wang Xiaojun, Wu Junliang, and Su Xintai from our School also attended the symposium.

At the symposium, Zhu Nengwu, Secretary of the Party Committee of our School, first introduced the development of the School and its disciplines, the School's scientific research advantages in the fields of environmental protection and energy, as well as its representative achievements, the transformation and application of technological achievements, and social service work. Representative teachers of the School delivered speeches one by one, introducing the effectiveness of technological achievement transformation in their respective research fields and sharing their thoughts on the construction of the industrial park. 

Subsequently, representatives from School of Geography and Environmental Economics of Guangdong University of Finance and Economics,Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences Environment Technology Engineering Co., Ltd., CCIEE Overseas Consulting Co., Ltd., and Chuangyuan Low-Carbon Technology (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. respectively introduced the development of industry-university-research cooperation and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements based on their own characteristics, and shared their insights on the construction of Panyu District Eco-Environmental Protection Industrial Park. The representative from Guangdong International Engineering Consulting Co., Ltd. introduced the development of Guangzhou's energy conservation and environmental protection industrial chain, providing macro support for the positioning of the industrial park. The representative from Panyu District Investment Promotion Office gave a detailed introduction to the investment environment of Panyu District. During the discussion and exchange session of the symposium, representatives from all parties spoke freely and conducted exchanges around core topics such as the positioning of the industrial park, the construction of the industrial chain, and supporting policies.

Through efficient in-depth exchanges among government, industry, university, research and application sectors, this symposium has injected new impetus into the planning of the construction of Panyu Eco-Environmental Protection Industrial Park, and at the same time laid a solid foundation for further cooperation among all parties in the future.
