On the afternoon of July 9, 2025, Professor Zhu Nengwu, Secretary of the Party Committee of our School, led a delegation to conduct research at Guangzhou Municipal Engineering Design & Research Institute General Institute (hereinafter referred to as "Guangzhou Municipal General Institute"). The accompanying members included Wu Honghui, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School; Professors Hu Yun, Chen Yan and Qiu Guanglei, Vice Deans of the School; Professor Yan Keyou, Director of the Institute of Environment and Energy Integration Teaching and Research; Professor Wu Jinhua, Director of the Solid Waste Institute; and Director Chen Li’e of the Party and Administration Office of the School. This research visit was warmly received by Wang Guanghua, Deputy General Manager of Guangzhou Municipal General Institute; Zhou Jianhua, Chief Engineer; Li Luxin, Vice Dean of the Third Design Institute; and Zhang Ruijian, Deputy Chief Engineer of the R&D Center, among others.

Under the guidance of Deputy General Manager Wang Guanghua, the research delegation first visited the enterprise exhibition hall, and gained a preliminary understanding of Guangzhou Municipal General Institute’s development history, core business layout, scientific research and innovation system, as well as the landmark business achievements made in the field of environmental protection municipal engineering.

At the subsequent symposium, the research delegation further gained a systematic understanding of the enterprise’s historical evolution, organizational structure, business scope and major innovation achievements by watching the enterprise promotional video. Vice Dean Li Luxin focused on introducing the core business and technical strength of the water sector of Guangzhou Municipal General Institute, while Deputy Chief Engineer Zhang Ruijian shared the cutting-edge research achievements of the R&D Center of Guangzhou Municipal General Institute. Secretary Zhu Nengwu introduced the School’s disciplinary development context, faculty team, innovative talent training model, and major technological achievements in scientific research and social services. Vice Dean Qiu Guanglei further introduced the School’s key technology R&D, achievement transformation and engineering application in the field of municipal water treatment. Finally, the two parties conducted discussions and exchanges on topics such as professional degree postgraduate training, construction of joint postgraduate training bases, and scientific research cooperation. Secretary Zhu Nengwu stated that the School looks forward to establishing closer and deeper cooperation with Guangzhou Municipal General Institute in scientific research, technology transformation and talent cultivation. Deputy General Manager Wang Guanghua also expressed the willingness to deepen cooperation, hoping to rely on the advantages of the university’s scientific research platform and the enterprise’s engineering practice platform to achieve complementary advantages and win-win development between the two parties.

This research has deepened the mutual understanding between the School and Guangzhou Municipal General Institute, and laid a solid foundation for in-depth cooperation between the two parties in the fields of industry-education integration and collaborative innovation in the future.
