Handover Ceremony of Rotating Executive Director and Working Meeting of the Special Committee on Ecological Environmental Protection and New Energy of South China University of Technology Greater Bay Area Alumni Development Alliance Successfully Held

On the morning of July 9, 2025, the Handover Ceremony of Rotating Executive Director and Working Meeting of the Special Committee on Ecological Environmental Protection and New Energy (hereinafter referred to as the "Special Committee") of South China University of Technology Greater Bay Area Alumni Development Alliance (hereinafter referred to as the "Alliance") was held in Conference Room 308 of our School. Attendees of the meeting included Huang Yancong, Secretary-General of the Alliance; Tan Guoying, Vice Chairman of the Alliance and Executive Deputy Director of the Special Committee (alumnus); Sun Shaotang, Chairman of Guangzhou Jinpeng Environmental Protection Engineering Co., Ltd., Executive Deputy Director of the Special Committee and the first Rotating Executive Director; Cai Zhuhua, Chairman of Guangzhou Weigang Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. and Deputy Director of the Special Committee; Xie Quanmo, General Manager of Guangdong Yiding Environmental Protection Engineering Co., Ltd. and Executive Deputy Director of the Special Committee; more than 20 representatives of alumni entrepreneurs and core members of the Special Committee; Zhu Nengwu, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School and Director of the Special Committee; Wu Honghui, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School and Executive Deputy Director of the Special Committee; Hu Yun, Vice Dean of the School and Executive Deputy Director of the Special Committee; and Qiu Guanglei, Vice Dean of the School and Executive Deputy Director of the Special Committee.

At the meeting, Sun Shaotang, Rotating Executive Director of the Special Committee, first reported the main work and achievements of the Special Committee since its establishment. The Special Committee has linked up with the School, and through enterprise visits, university-local government/university-enterprise exchanges and other forms, it has effectively promoted the integration of technological innovation and industrial innovation, facilitated industry-university-research cooperation and the implementation of scientific research projects, and strongly supported the development of the School and alumni. Subsequently, Zhu Nengwu, Director of the Special Committee, reported the progress of the School's work since the establishment of the Special Committee, and emphasized that the Special Committee has played an important role in the School's 20th anniversary celebration, the "Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Project" activities, university-enterprise cooperation and other aspects. He stated that it is hoped that in the future, through the platform of the Special Committee, the strength of alumni will be further consolidated to promote the reform and development of the School, and at the same time, to assist alumni enterprises and the industry in green transformation and the cultivation of new productive forces. 

The meeting unanimously approved that the new Rotating Executive Directors are alumni Cai Zhuhua and Xie Quanmo. Under the joint witness of all attendees, the rotation handover ceremony was held. Huang Yancong, Secretary-General of the Alliance; Zhu Nengwu, Director of the Special Committee; and Sun Shaotang, former Rotating Executive Director, jointly awarded the flags to the two new Rotating Executive Directors. Afterwards, the participating representatives conducted in-depth discussions on the work of the Special Committee and reached certain consensus on issues such as how to optimize the operation mechanism and expand external cooperation.

 

On behalf of the Alliance, Huang Yancong, Secretary-General of the Alliance, delivered a concluding speech at the meeting. He highly affirmed the work achievements of the Special Committee since its establishment, and stated that the Alliance will continue to fully support the work of the Special Committee, and work together with the School to promote the Special Committee's exchanges and cooperation in interdisciplinary, cross-industry and cross-regional aspects, so as to expand development space and opportunities.

Established in November 2023, the Special Committee serves as a special cooperation and exchange platform between our university and alumni as well as alumni enterprises engaged in the ecological environmental protection and new energy industry. It has been committed to uniting SCUT alumni engaged in the ecological environmental protection and new energy-related industries in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, utilizing the expertise and wisdom of environmental and energy professionals to provide ecological environmental protection and new energy technical support for SCUT alumni, alumni enterprises and the society, and continuously promoting the sustained and healthy development of the ecological environmental protection and new energy industry. The holding of this meeting marks that the Special Committee will enter a new stage of development. In the future, the Special Committee will uphold its mission of "serving the alma mater, serving alumni, empowering the industry and leading development", continue to play its role as a bridge, constantly improve the institutional mechanism, explore new paths for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and contribute to the high-quality development of the ecological environmental protection and new energy industry in the Greater Bay Area.
