On April 27, the launch and implementation plan review meeting for the "Research and Application Demonstration of Environmental Risk Prevention and Control Technologies for Chip Production and Waste Liquid Crystal Chemicals," a key project under the "Key Technologies and Equipment for Circular Economy" special program of the "14th Five-Year Plan" National Key R&D Program, was held in Guangzhou. Guo Jiaxu, Project Supervisor of the Special Project Office for "Key Technologies and Equipment for Circular Economy" at the China 21st Century Agenda Management Center, and Han Shuangyan, Deputy Director of the Research Institute of Science and Technology at the university, attended the meeting, which was held in a hybrid online-offline format.
Meeting Scene
Zhu Nengwu, Professor at our School and project leader, reported on the overall situation of the project. Starting from three major challenges—"accurate screening, effective reduction, and reliable prevention"—he conducted plan demonstration following the approach of "screening-reduction-integrated application." The leaders of each sub-project presented their implementation plans, elaborating on their ideas and highlights from aspects such as research background, objectives and tasks, implementation schemes, expected outcomes, and organizational management.
Project and Sub-project Leaders Present Implementation Plans
The expert panel for the project implementation plan review was led by Academician Peng Ping’an. It included three tracking experts: Researcher Yu Yunjiang from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Researcher Wang Yawei from the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Professor Wan Yi from Peking University; as well as five invited consulting experts: Researcher Xi Beidou from the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences, Professor Chen Jingwen from Dalian University of Technology, Professor Xi Shuhua from China Medical University, Professor Dang Zhi from South China University of Technology, and Professor An Taicheng from Guangdong University of Technology. The panel questioned the project on aspects such as the implementation plan, integration and intersection of sub-projects, achievement of assessment indicators, and implementation of demonstration projects. They highly affirmed the project’s forward-looking, systematic, and feasible nature, pointing out that environmental risk prevention and control for chip production and waste liquid crystal chemicals are crucial for the green transformation and high-quality development strategies. They suggested considering aspects such as collaborative innovation and feature enhancement among sub-projects, expansion of multi-media prevention and control, international benchmarking, and cost management to break through the bottleneck of full-process environmental risk prevention and control for chemicals in the electronics industry. The panel unanimously agreed to pass the project’s implementation plan review.
Expert Panel for Implementation Plan Review Comments and Discusses the Project
