On May 11th and 12th, 2023, jointly hosted by the South China University of Technology and the VOCs Pollution Prevention and Control Professional Committee of Chinese Society of Environmental Sciences, co-sponsored by Shandong University of Science and Technology,  Ocean University of China, Qingdao University of Technology and Qingdao Huashijie Environment Technology Limited Company, the 2nd Annual Conference on Volatile Organic Pollutants Pollution Prevention and Control Technology of the VOCs Pollution Prevention and Control Professional Committee of Chinese Society of Environmental Sciences was held in Qingdao, Shandong Province. The conference was held for 2 days, in addition to the keynote report, 6 sessions were arranged with 132 presentations in total. More than 400 experts, scholars and environmentalists from universities like South China University of Technology, research institutes, environmental management departments and environmental service companies attended the conference.

Professor Ye Daiqi, Secretary General of the Committee, and Professor Shao Min, Director of the Committee, Assistant to the President of Jinan University and Director of the Institute of Environmental and Climate Research of Jinan University, presided over the first and second sessions of the keynote presentations respectively. With the theme of New Challenges and New Requirements for VOCs Management, the conference invited academician He Hong (Chinese Academy of Engineering), researcher of Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Li Junhua of Tsinghua University, as well as the researcher Luan Zhiqiang of PLA Institute of Chemical Defense, Professor Shao Min of Jinan University and Professor Ye Daiqi of South China University of Technology to give the keynote reports. During the conference, experts and scholars exchanged and discussed on the topic of the Whole Process Control of Industrial VOCs Pollution, New Materials and Technologies for Industrial VOCs Management, Synergistic Control of VOCs and Other Pollutants , VOCs Monitoring Technology and Supervision, Industrial Park Governance and Green Island Governance Model, Traceability and Management of Controlled Halohydrocarbon in the Convention and others. The conference will play an important role in promoting scientific and technological innovation for the prevention and control of VOCs pollution by deeply fighting the battle of pollution prevention and control, serving the high-quality economic development, and handling pollution in an accurate, scientific and legally-binding manner.
