On March 2nd, 2023, the School of Environment and Energy held the luncheon of the “Hand in Hand” program in B4-202, Environment Building. Lv Xiaoting, the director of the Office of Academic Affairs, Rizvaguli, the undergraduate counselor, Wu Yehang, the graduate counselor, and 11 representatives of undergraduate students had an in-depth exchange about course study and campus life.
At the beginning of the luncheon, Ms. Lv Xiaoting briefly introduced the main purpose of the luncheon of the “Hand in Hand” program to the students, which is to provide a more relaxed communication channel between students and teachers, and to invite senior students who have performed well in their studies to share their experiences in course learning and campus life with junior students, in the hope of better helping junior students to adapt to university life and study.
Zhang Jingxiang was the first student to share his experience in basic courses such as advanced mathematics, linear algebra, university physics, engineering mechanics and organic chemistry with the lower-grade students. He said that in the study of basic courses, it is necessary to revise and practice more, complete the after-class exercises assigned by teachers, focus on the review of basic concepts before examinations, avoid carelessness in examinations and pay attention to the accuracy of calculations.
After that, Li Yuchen and Tao Hongjuan both answered questions raised by the junior students about the difficulties in the study of professional courses. They said that in the study of professional courses, the key points emphasized by the teachers are very important, which require careful learning. Besides, they also suggested that it’s important to be good at seeking help from senior students, expressing willingness to provide study notes to students in need, hoping to answer questions and solve problems for younger students.
Senior students shared their experiences
So far, the second luncheon of the School of Environment and Energy was successfully concluded, and the junior students expressed that they had benefited a lot from the experiences shared by the senior students and would apply these learning experiences in their future courses.
