On the morning of January 4, 2023, the opening ceremony of the Joint Research Laboratory on Enamelling Process and Environment between South China University of Technology and Kecheng Copper Yingde Production Base was held at the site of the base. This marked a new height of the cooperation between the two parties.

The laboratory was jointly established by Kecheng Copper and the National Engineering Laboratory of VOCs Pollution Control Technology and Equipment of South China University of Technology for the technical upgrading of the enameled wire production process, and it has made a major technological breakthrough in the three-stage catalytic process of enameled wire soon after its establishment, achieving zero discharge of enameled wire production effluent. The base alone can reduce the discharge of 50,000 tons of industrial wastewater and lower energy consumption by more than 15% per year, thus promoting the green and sustainable development of the company.

Kecheng Copper Yingde Production Base is located in the middle and southern area of the Guangde (Yingde) Industrial Park in Guangzhou-Qingyuan Special Cooperation Zone, and is the third copper-based new material processing plant invested by Sci Group after its investment to the Sci Copper (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. and Tai-I Copper (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. The project covers an area of 157 mu and is developed and constructed in two phases. The total investment of the first phase is 1.2 billion yuan, with an annual production capacity of 45,000 tons of special enameled wire and an annual output value of over 2.8 billion yuan, which is a key construction industrial project in Guangdong Province in 2021. Kecheng Copper has paid great attention to scientific and technological research and development, and invests nearly 10 million yuan in R&D throughout the year. It has carried out research on several topics such as the development of primary and secondary catalysts for enameled wire baking ovens based on the joint laboratory, which has achieved good results.
