The School Held a General Meeting for All Faculty and Staff

On the afternoon of September 1, 2022, the School held a general meeting for all faculty and staff in B4215. The meeting was chaired by Dean Ye Daiqi.

First of all, the meeting was held for the presentation of 2022 assessment of the appointment period of senior professional title. Professor Yang Chenghao and four other people, who have completed 5 years of senior appointment period, and Senior Engineer Huang Haomin, who has completed 3 years of associate senior appointment period, made the presentation for all faculty members in turn.

Then, the meeting was held to educate teachers' morality. Party Secretary Chen Hangyu made a report on the 12362 Work System Implementation Plan of Teachers' Ideology and Morality in South China University of Technology, introducing in detail the background, guiding ideology, main objectives and key tasks of the program. Through this lecture, he gradually guided the teachers and staffs to understand morality education, and instructed them to be self-disciplined and self-strengthening.

Afterwards, the meeting was held for laboratory safety education. Chen Yan, Deputy Dean of the School in charge of laboratory work, made a report, introducing in detail the current situation of the School’s laboratory, the serious difficulties, the relevant cases of laboratory safety accidents around, and the focus of laboratory safety prevention, etc. Through safety education, the laboratory safety awareness of all faculty members was further enhanced.

Finally, the meeting carried out special training on network security. In order to implement the Cybersecurity Law of the People's Republic of China, improve the network security awareness of faculty and staff, and enhance the network security management foundation and skills of all teachers, the network security training in School was organized in batches using a variety of learning methods, such as centralized video viewing and offline self-study. The training content includes both data security regulations and daily Internet safety knowledge, and also includes recent network security cases such as mining and phishing emails, an effort to guide all faculty members to access the Internet according to the law in a civilized and safe manner. During the training session, the faculty and staff expressed that the network security problem is now very serious and personal information is under serious threat, so we should be more vigilant and prevent personal information from being stolen illegally. The training further enriched the knowledge of network information security of faculty and staff, firmly established the awareness of network security, prompted faculty and staff to consciously maintain campus network security and strive to become participants, guardians and contributors of campus network security.
