The kick-off meeting of the national key R&D program for young scientist key materials and tubular reaction project for electrothermal coupling catalytic CO2 conversion to liquid fuel”, led by Professor Chen Yan of the School, was successfully held on the afternoon of April 8, 2022. The participants in the kick-off meeting included project experts, representatives of the University and of the special office of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and members of the project team. The kick-off meeting was held both online and offline.
To begin with, Professor Chen Yan from the School of Environment and Energy of South China University of Technology, the project leader, introduced the guests and participants of the project team, and hoped that all experts would offer guidance and suggestions to the project. Jiang Xinghua, Vice Dean of Scientific Research Institute of SCUT, attended the meeting and delivered a speech, briefly introducing the development of scientific research of the University. As Vice Dean Jiang said, as a functional institution of the University, the Scientific Research Institute would diligently guarantee various projects of the University. Jiang also hoped that the project can be carried out successfully and contribute to the national energy conservation and emission reduction.
Then, Professor Chen introduced the project in detail from five aspects: project outline, task division and main work, presentation form and test method of project results, project organization and management mechanism, key nodes of the project and specific implementation plan. In order to reach or exceed the final technical indicators of the project, Professor Chen elaborated the work assignments and requirements of the project from the leading unit South China University of technology, the cooperative units China University of mining and technology and Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The work of the three units were interconnected, progressive and mutually reinforcing, and ultimately completed the project requirements altogether.
Afterward, with Professor Xia Changrong of University of Science and Technology of China, leader of the expert group, presided over, the experts put forward guidance and suggestions on the relevant situation of the project. The experts first fully affirmed the planning and objectives of the project, and gave detailed professional suggestions on the scientific, technological and testing issues involved in the project according to the actual situation. Professor Chen answered the experts' questions in detail and thanked them for their affirmation and suggestions.
Through this comprehensive and prepared kick-off meeting, sufficient preparations were made for the successful completion of the national key R&D program for young scientist key materials and tubular reaction project for electrothermal coupling catalytic CO2 conversion to liquid fuel”.
