At the beginning of the new semester, in order to further strengthen the cultivation of teachers' ethics, the School of Environment and Energy of South China University of Technology held a meeting on education of teachers' ethics in Conference Room 215 of the Environment Building on the afternoon of February 24. More than 90 Party and government leaders and all teaching staff of the School attended the meeting.

Meeting on education of teachers' ethics

At the meeting, Comrade Chen Hangyu, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, read out and conveyed the typical cases of the recent warning of teachers' ethics, which worked as warning, clarification, learning experience and incentive to promote reform, so as to guide the teachers to revere the bottom line. He stressed that strengthening cultivation should be taken as the fundamental work and teachers' ethics as the first standard to examine teaching staff. Chen also made it clear that teachers should earnestly enhance the ideological and action consciousness of abiding by teachers' code of professional conduct, and resolutely curb the occurrence of teachers' ethics anomie.

Afterwards, Comrade Chen reviewed with all the teaching staff the Guidelines for Teacher-Student Exchanges of South China University of Technology, so as to guide the teachers to firmly establish the “four self-confidence, take a clear-cut stand on what kind of people to cultivate, how to cultivate and for whom to cultivate, adhere to the founding mission of educating people for the Party and the country, be a good teacher with ideal belief, morality, solid knowledge, and the heart of benevolence. Besides cultivating morality, teachers should also set an example for others, devote themselves to academics and create an incorruptible and positive political ecology and a suitable environment for education.
