On April 30th, the project acceptance meeting of National Engineering Laboratory for VOCs pollution control technology and equipment (hereinafter referred to as Engineering Laboratory ) led by South China University of Technology was held in the university town. According to the opinions of the Acceptance Expert Committee, the construction task of the project has been completed and passed the acceptance test. In the Acceptance Expert Committee, academician Hao Jiming of Tsinghua University serves as the dirctor, academician Liu Wenqing of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences as the deputy director, and Cen Chaoping of South China Institute of Environmental Sciences of the Ministry of Ecological Environment, Professor Chen Jianmin of Fudan University, Professor Fan Shaojia of Sun Yat-sen University, senior accountant Huang Ningqing of South China Botanical Garden of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Ning Ping of Kunming University of Technology, researcher Xie Pinhua of Anhui Institute of Optoelectronic Precision Machinery of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Professor Yang Xin of Southern University of Science and Technology as committee members. Li Guangping, first-class researcher of the Innovation and Development Department of Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission, Zhang Deyao, fourth-class researcher, Jin Tianlai, deputy director of the Scientific Research Department of Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, Zhu Min, vice president of South China University of Technology, Jiang Xinghua, vice dean of the Scientific Research Institute of South China University of Technology, Ouyang Guozhen, chief of the base section, representatives of joint construction units and all personnel of the engineering laboratory attended the meeting.
Acceptance meeting
In light of the problems of weak VOCs control technology and low operation reliability of key materials and equipment in China, the Engineering Laboratory carries out VOCs treatment in key industries such as petrochemical, packaging and printing and industrial coating, and made technical breakthroughs in terms of VOCs source and process control technology, core materials, basic materials and parts, process integration and equipment integration and engineering research and development, as well as online monitoring technology development and system application. After nearly four years of construction, the National Engineering Laboratory has built four platforms: VOCs pollution control process integration, VOCs treatment composite performance testing, VOCs efficient treatment equipment development and VOCs treatment equipment safety and reliability testing, forming a series of key technologies, reliable treatment equipment and demonstration projects for VOCs treatment, providing new methods and ideas for VOCs pollution control in Guangdong Province and even the whole country.

At the meeting, Professor Ye Daiqi, director of the Engineering Laboratory, reported on the construction and development planning of the laboratory. After on-site investigation, review of relevant written materials and expert questions, the experts of the Acceptance Expert Committee believed that the Engineering Laboratory completed the construction task of the project, and the participating experts unanimously agreed the lab to pass the acceptance test. Meanwhile, the Acceptance Expert Committee encouraged the Engineering Laboratory to further strengthen the innovation capacity, improve the environment for R&D and engineering research and verification, strengthen the R&D key technologies, continuously strengthen technology promotion and industry services, striving to become an engineering technology highland and radiation source in the field of VOCs pollution control in China, making due contributions to improving the quality of China's atmospheric environment.

Taking this acceptance test as an opportunity, the Engineering Laboratory will further explore and optimize the China-foreign cooperation and achievement transformation and application mechanism of the Engineering Laboratory, continuously take solving the key practical problems in the development of VOCs industry as the R&D orientation, and promote the progress and development of VOCs prevention and control technology under the goal of Carbon Neutrality.
