On the afternoon of April 23rd, 2021, the school held an exchange meeting with Cell Press editors in conference room B4-308. Dr. Liao Fenglin, Dr. Duan Yan, Dr. Zhu Yanfei and Dr. Sun Jiqing, editors of the internationally famous academic journal Cell Press, were invited to the exchange meeting. The meeting was chaired by Professor Su Xintai. The participants included some teachers and graduate students of the School of Environment and Energy, as well as some teachers of Sun Yat-sen University, Guangdong University of Technology and Guangzhou University.
Firstly, Dr. Liao Fenglin introduced in detail the relationship, development history and research fields of the four journals (Chem, Joule, Matter and Chem Catalysis). Among them, Chem is the first natural science sister journal of Cell Press, which is committed to promoting creative breakthroughs in chemistry and its cross fields and helping to find potential solutions to future global challenges; Joule mainly collects articles related to high-level energy field, involving all energy related research fields such as battery, catalysis, solar energy and bioenergy; The launch of Matter is to publish high-level papers in the field of materials science and provide a platform for innovative material papers in various fields such as biomaterials, energy materials and optical materials; As the first sub journal of Chem, Chem Catalysis aims to publish innovative and profound research results in the field of basic catalysis and applied catalysis. The first journal will be published in June, 2021. Then Dr. Sun Jiqing explained the skills of writing and submitting articles from the aspects of English article title, highlights and text. In addition, Dr. Duan Yan and Dr. Zhu Yanfei also made further Q&A on the characteristics of corresponding journals.
Finally, the editors of cell press had a profound and extensive discussion and exchange with the participating teachers and students on issues such as paper publication and related fields.
