The frontier forum of pollution control chemistry under the goal of carbon neutrality aims to deeply implement the major strategic decision of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on carbon peak and carbon neutrality, and explore the frontier progress in the field of pollution control chemistry. The forum was presided over by Professor Ye Daiqi, Dean of the School of Environment and Energy, South China University of Technology, Professor Zhang Lizhi from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Professor Chen Yan, Vice Dean of School of Environment and Energy, South China University of Technology. At the forum, academician Zhu Lizhong from Zhejiang University gave a report entitled key technologies and applications of carbon sequestration, emission reduction and yield increase in typical terrestrial ecosystems, Professor Zhang Lizhi from Shanghai Jiao Tong University gave a report entitled new materials for pollution control and environmental remediation: oxyradical modified zero valent iron, and Professor Ning Ping from Kunming University of Technology gave a report entitled key technologies and applications for advanced resource utilization of metallurgical and chemical waste gas, Professor Tang Lin from Hunan University made a report entitled research on the mechanism of synergistic degradation of organic pollutants by organic solid waste pyrolysis biochar and microorganisms, and Professor An Taicheng from Guangdong University of Technology made a report entitled research and reflection on the atmospheric conversion mechanism and catalytic purification mechanism of typical VOCs under the comprehensive carbon target Professor Hu Chun from Guangzhou University made a report entitled wastewater purification principle of energy utilization of organic pollutants, and Professor Li Hexing from Shanghai University of Electric Power made an online report entitled challenges and measures of photocatalysis Later, key teachers of the school - Professor Shi Zhenqing, Professor Feng Chunhua and Associate Professor Chen Peirong - also made reports. Finally, Professor Zhu Lizhong made a speech in the summary of the forum. He said that scientific research should come from practice; the highest realm of scientific research should be innovation leading, improving quality and quantity, fixing weaknesses and promoting industrial development; it is important to pay attention to inter-discipline and generate new growth points through inter-discipline when doing environmental chemistry.
