On the morning of June 10, 2020, Wang Jun, Executive Deputy Dean of the Graduate School of the University, led a team to our school to investigate and guide the work. The entourage included Xu Yong, Deputy Dean of the Graduate School, Ruan Xiangqian, Office Director of the Graduate School of the University City Campus, Huang Zhiwen, Director of Cultivation Office of the Graduate School, Xiong Ling, Dirctor of the Professional Degree Office of Graduate School, Xie Wenjun, Deputy Director of SCUT Degree Evaluation Committee Office, Zhang Chunhui, Dean Assistant of Graduate School and others. Chen Hangyu, Secretary of the Party Committee of the school, Wu Yaohua, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Professor Wang Xiaojun and Professor Jiang Zhongjie and others attended the symposium.

At the meeting, Chen Hangyu, Secretary of the Party Committee of the school, first gave a report on the work of the school, including the achievements of the school in recent years and the main problems in terms of discipline construction, faculty, talent cultivation, scientific research, international exchanges, and laboratory construction. Next, Wu Zhangyi, secretary of graduate education of the school, reported on the school’s basic graduate training situation, graduate teaching and practice arrangements, the school’s specific measures in the allocation of the enrolling target, graduate degree awards, and doctoral application assessment. Finally, the attendees had a full discussion and communication on how to improve the quality of postgraduate training, the engineering doctoral education and so on.

Wang Jun, Executive Deputy Dean of the Graduate School, fully affirmed the school’s achievements in graduate training and the school’s contribution to the engineering doctoral education. He hoped that the school would continue to display subjective initiative and creativity to strive for success and make greater progress.
