Prof. Wang Jinquan’s team took the lead in the research on Fe-MOFs catalyzed persulfate degradation of pollutants. In the research works, unsaturated active sites and defections in complexation in the Fe-MOFs was showed to play key roles in the activation of persulfate to produce sulfate radicals. Using molecular imprinting for targeted assembly of MOFs to enhanced the specificity of the persulfate based advanced oxidation, the adsorption and catalytic degradation of target pollutants was enhanced by more than 4 times. 20 papers were published in the Journal of Hazardous Materials, Applied Catalysis a-General, Chemosphere, etc., 2 of which are highly-cited papers. The related technology system has granted 12 patents (including 2 U.S. patents).
