From March 8 to 9, the national engineering laboratory for the control of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) pollution welcomed the on-site qualification assessment from the testing institutions. The expert panel was composed of professor Mei Jianping from Southeast University, Chen Qian from the environmental engineering laboratory of Peking University and Wang Zhiqiang from the environmental testing center of Tsinghua university. Zhu Min, the vice president of South China University of Technology, Ye Daiqi, the director of the national engineering laboratory, Tan Yexia ,the deputy director of laborotory, Jiang Xinhua from the technology department,Ma Qiang the director of the lab and equipment management office, Wang Xinghua, the director of analysis and test center, Ye Hanjun ,the deputy director of the council of university city, Chen Limin, the associate professor and head of the national engineering laboratory technology, Huang Haomin, the engineer who is responsible for quality assurance, supervisors including professor Hu Yun, professor Fu Mingli, associate professor Wu Junliang, and related laboratory staff all attended the meeting at the scene.
According to the general requirements for testing agencies Review panel, the review tested all elements of laboratory operations, including laboratory facilities, the operation conditions of instruments and equipment, the record of quality and technical data, They also confirmed the detection ability of the laboratory application, which is environmental air and stationary sources of air exhaust, a total of 97 parameters by comparisonof the instruments, eyewitness of the experiments and retests of the samples at the same time.
Vice President Zhu Min welcomed and thanked the panel, and he also confirmed the efforts made by the laboratory team to build a safe and reliable test platform for VOCs control equipment, hoping that the laboratory team could take this review as an opportunity to strengthen the normative construction and effectively improve the testing ability. The university will provide stable support for the construction of the laboratory in terms of personnel, equipment and laboratory environment. The university will also maintain the relative independence of the laboratory to ensure the fairness and impartiality of the laboratory as a third-party inspection and testing institution.
After two days of review, the national engineering laboratory of technology and equipment for the control of volatile organic compounds in SCUT has passed the on-site assessment of qualifications, and it will become the fourth secondary unit with the qualification certificate. This also promoted SCUT to become a university which has the number of certificates, only prior to the Tsinghua University.
