From July 18, 2018 to July 20, 2018, the School of Environment and Energy of SCUT successfully held the 2018 National Outstanding College Students Summer Camp. The summer camp selected 67 outstanding college students our of 397 applicants, from Hunan University, Chongqing University, Dalian University of Technology, Ocean University of China, Jilin University, Wuhan University, Northwest A&F University, etc. Under the leadership of the professor, teachers and volunteers of our School, the campers studied, exchanged and visited for three days. Besides, 55 students were selected to be the Excellent Ccampers of this summer camp.

    The summer camp was started with the opening ceremony hosted by the Deputy Party Secretary Wu Yaohua. In the opening ceremony, Party Secretary Chen Yuhang awarded the camp flag, and the Associate Dean Liu Jiang introduced the School. After taking a group photo, the campers listened to a lecture about the subjects at the lecture hall (B4-215) and had a face-to-face exchange with the tutors. On the second day of the summer camp, after attending lectures and meeting with the tutors, the campers had a group discussion, as well as an English exam and a comprehensive interview assessment. After two days of visit and study, the School organized social activities for the campers to be familiar with each other and to better relax and enjoy the summer camp life. On the morning of the third day, the campers visited the School's research studios and the history museum, which enabled the campers to know the School better. At noon on July 20, the summer camp closed ceremony was held at the School’s lecture hall (B4-215). First, the Associate Dean Liu Jiang summarized the activities of the summer camp, then the representative of the excellent campers made a speech, and Ms. Liu Jiang and staff issued certificates for excellent campers. Finally, everyone took a group photo and the summer camp was successfully concluded.

    Through this summer camp, the communication among outstanding college students from all over the country was promoted, and they know much better South China University of Technology and the School of Environment and Energy.
