In order to make further effort on VOCs pollution protection and control of the total amount, reduce ozone pollution, promote the coordinatedcontrol and emission reduction of atmospheric pollutants and make progress in the period ofpollution prevention, hosted by Chinese Society of Environmental Sciences and co-organized by Solid Waste and Chemicals Management Technology Center in Ministry of Ecology and Environment, School of Environment and Energy in South China University of Technology, China Environmental Science Society Volatile Organics Pollution Prevention and Control Committee, the second advanced forum on environmental protection and scientific and technological innovation development was held in Hefei, Anhui Province successfully on August 4, 2018.

    The theme of this forum was the control of VOCs pollution emission and ozone formation mechanism and prevention. The deputy minister of ministry of Ecology and EnvironmentHuang Runqiu attended the forum and delivered a speech, the director of Ministry of Ecology and Environment Technology Standards Division Zou Shoumin, Academician Liu Wenqing, Academician Zhang Yuanhang, Academician Wu Fengchang, the secretary general ofChinese Society of Environmental Sciences Wang Zhihua, the deputy director and secretary general of the VOCs Committee Prof.Ye Daiqi、chairman Prof.Shao Min, Researcher Ding Qiong and some other well-known experts attended the forum.A total of 30 people attended the forum.

    The forum was hosted by chief Scientist of Anhui Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics of Chinese Academy of Sciences Liu Wenqing. Firstly, the deputy director and secretary general of the VOCs Committee Prof.Ye Daiqi made a presentation called Emission characteristics and trends of VOCs during the 13th Five-Year Plan period in China. Academician Liu Wenqing, Academician Zhang Yuanhang, Researcher Lei Yu, Researcher Ding Qiong, Prof.Xiu Guangli and Prof.Shi Xiaoming made special topic presentations named Progress in VOCs monitoring technology, Secondary pollution prevention and control and VOCs prevention, National VOCs pollution prevention and control objectives and policies, Management and Strategy of VOCs in the List of Poisonous and Harmful Air Pollutants in developed Countries, VOCs elimination and challenges of enterprise and The impact of VOCs on population health respectively.

    This forum showed the latest research results in the field of VOCs pollution prevention and control. Experts participating in the forum made heated discussion on VOCs pollution causes, management policy, technological problems and control measures and so on. At the same time, they wrote expert proposal, which can be beneficial in and make great progress in the goal called Blue sky defense.
