In order to effectively complete the application of National Natural Science Foundation of China in 2018 and further improve the quality of the national natural science foundation project applications, our school convoked the mobilization meeting of 2018 application of national natural science foundation project in January 16, 2018. We had invited professor Huo Mingxin from Northeast Normal University, professor Hu Chun from Guangzhou University, professor Li Fangbai from Guangdong Institute of Eco-environmental and Soil Sciences, professor Ouyang Gangfeng and professor Yang Xin fromSun Yat-sen University to guide our teachers in the application. Professor Lin Zhang, Vice Dean of scientific research, chaired the meeting. More than 20 teachers participated the conference.  

   At the meeting, professor Huo Mingxin, professor Hu Chun and professor Ouyang Gangfeng answered the questions asked by the teachers about the application of the fund. The teachers and the participating experts had a heated discussion.  

 Then, professor Hu Chun and professor Ouyang Gangfeng shared their experiences. Professor Hu Chun made an in-depth analysis of the National Natural Science Foundation project application strategy from the preparation of the application, the reference and modification of the review opinions, and the implementation of the National Natural Science Foundation project. Professor Ouyang Gangfeng deeply analyzed how to improve the quality of application writing from the type of project, the high quality application writing and so on. He stressed that the application should be made clear to the judges and don’t let them find out anything wrong. He also points out that an application with fewer advantages and no disadvantages is not as good as an application with more advantages and fewer disadvantages. In the end, professor Zhu Nengwu and associate professor Liu Weizhen made reports on the application of talent fund one by one, and the experts gave their comments and guidance.

   The experts shared the application experience and answered the questions, which provided important guidance for our teachers to apply the National Natural Science Foundation of China in 2018. The effect of this meeting was excellent, and it is a positive impetus for our teachers to master the key points of the application and improve the quality of their applications.
