On the afternoon of November 7, 2017, the school held a symposium about undergraduate teaching innovation. Dr. William Wen from Griffith University was invited to give a report entitled "My Teaching at Griffith University". Professor Zhu Nengwu, vice president of undergraduate teaching of the school, chaired the meeting. Dean Ye Daiqi, and several young teachers attended the meeting.
From theoretical teaching, experimental teaching to practical teaching, Dr. Wen gave a detailed introduction of the course teaching at Griffith University. He also introduced the safety management of students in the laboratory and his personal safety in extracurricular practice. Besides, Dr. Wen compared the difference in educational methods of undergraduate teaching between the Australian universities and domestic universities.
During the questioning session, Dr. Wen had heated discussions on the course teaching methods, curriculum evaluation, design of course content and practical teaching with the participating young teachers. Young teachers said they learnt a lot from the lecture and realized that under different educational backgrounds, they could do better in the teaching of undergraduate education if they acted according to local conditions and taught students in accordance with their aptitudes.
