On the scene of the report
At 11 o’clock in April 19th ,chemistry professor from University of Toronto ,vice principal of the main research affairs Bernie (H.-B.) Kraatz gave us an academic report named as Electrochemical Studies of Nucleic Acids on Surfaces: Towards the Identification of Species. Dean of environment and engineering department DaiqiYe, the assistant of the dean YunHu professor and many other teachers and students 50 people altogether have showed at the meeting .
On this meeting ,professor Bernie (H.-B.) Kraatz introduced researches about using DNA as biosensor. Heavy metal ion is enriched ,permanent ,extensive and severe , which has arose people’s attention and attachment .It is the fundamental prerequisite and key segment to prevent , control and deal with the heavy metal ion pollution to develop timely , simple , accurate , highly sensitive and highly selective measurement environment . Thus DNA, as biosensor ,has important theoretical value and wide application prospect to fleetly and sensitively detect heavy metal ion .
Professor Bernie (H.-B.) Kraatz has original , detailed and alive opinions on researches about using DNA as biosensor ,which gives present teachers and students a wider perspective and deeper thinking . After the report ,present teachers and students had a passionate discussion with professor Bernie (H.-B.) Kraatz on related items .Subsequently , professor Bernie (H.-B.) Kraatz also attended the propaganda of the project that our school and the University of Toronto jointly educate masters and doctors .
