On June 5, 2012, Dr. Donald Barnes visited SESE and gave a lecture on "Mercury, Coal, and Power". Dr. Barnes introduced  the source and health effects of methyl-mercury, analyzed the global distribution and control of methyl-mercury .

Dr. Barnes currently works in USEPA and specialized in pollution toxicity. He is also consultant of WHO.
