 Biography:

Yunping Zheng, a member of the CCF and the ACM, graduated from the School of Computer Science and Technology at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, where he obtained a Doctorate in Computer Application Technology. His doctoral thesis was honored with the Hubei Provincial Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Award. He was selected as a university-level candidate in the eighth batch of the "Thousand, Hundred, and Ten Talents Training Project" for higher education institutions in Guangdong Province. He spent one year as a visiting scholar at the University of Pennsylvania in the United States. In research, he has presided over one National Natural Science Foundation project, seven provincial/ministerial-level projects, one departmental-level project, one key project of central universities, two general projects of central universities, and three industry-collaborative projects. He has participated in one National 863 Project and one National Natural Science Foundation project. He has published over 100 academic papers in prestigious domestic and international journals and conference proceedings, including IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, Journal of Visual Communication and Image Representation, Frontiers of Computer Science, IET Image Processing, Chinese Journal of Electronics, Journal of Computer, and Journal of Software. He holds over 10 authorized invention patents. In teaching, he has presided over three provincial-level teaching reform projects and over 10 university-level key and general teaching reform projects. He has published more than 10 teaching reform papers and received the South China University of Technology's ‘Nanguang Award’ for Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching (the university's highest teaching quality award).
