Areas of Professional Interest

Prof. LIU’s major research interests include: Technology of RFID and the Internet of Things (IOT), Operating System and Embedded Software, Database and Knowledge Engineering and so on.

Scientific Honors and Professional Services

Director of Joint Laboratory of South China University of Technology - University of Hong Kong from 2006,  Vice Director of IBM Technology Center in SCUT from 2001. IEEE Members from 2004.

Prof. LIU is one of the authors of RFID Technology Blue Book, appointed evaluation expert of many projects such as National High-Tech R&D programs (the 863 Programs), the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology funding projects on electronic development, national SME Innovation Fund project, Guangdong Province Natural Science Fund projects, Guangdong Province Technology project, Guangzhou Special Project of Oversea students and Guangzhou Technology project. Prof. LIU is also an assessment consultant of Guangdong Province and Guangzhou Municipal Science and Technology Project.

Publications

Prof. LIU has published more than 120 papers including near 90 papers indexed by SCI, EI and so on, 4 monographs and textbooks, attained more than 30 Software copyrights, applied more than 96 invention patents including 51 patents authorized, achieved 8 Identification results.

Projects

Prof. LIU is the project leader or principle person of many projects such as the research project of Ministry of Science, the Ministry of Education, local governments, enterprises and institution, accomplished more than 40 projects.

Prof. LIU has been doing research on RFID Technology, logistics technology and IOT Technology since 2004. Her research is mainly on application technology of RFID (Projects in key areas of Guangdong -Hong Kong, 2004), RFID Middleware Technology (National High-tech R&D Program of China (the 863 Program), 2006), Interconnection Technology and Products (Key Field Project of Hong Kong - Guangdong and Provincial research base, 2007; Major Program of Software of the 863 Program, 2003 and 2004 ), RFID Middleware and information platform of Logistics (Special Project of Guangdong Information Services Development, 2008), Research of standards of RFID in Guangdong Province (Tender Project of Guangdong Province Radio detection station, 2009), Research of Development and application of Internet of Things in Guangzhou (key project of Guangzhou City,2010 and 2014), and Application of Internet of Things in Third-party Logistics (TPL) Whole Supply Chain (Emerging industries of strategic projects in Guangdong Province, 2012 and 2016 ). Among all, she has fully achieved promising corresponding result of research.
