  Welcome to South China University of Technology - The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Joint Research Center for Advanced and Green Composites (CAGCOM)!

  At this center, we are at the forefront of composite material innovation, born from the collaborative vision between the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and the South China University of Technology (SCUT). Established to meet the evolving needs of various industries, the center aims to leverage the strengths of both institutions to advance research, education, and technology transfer in the field of advanced and green composite materials.

  Our primary research areas include polymer-based composites, high-entropy ceramic composites, energy storage composites, and cement-based/infrastructure composites. We are committed to leveraging emerging technologies such as nanotechnology, robotics, and artificial intelligence to enhance the performance and functionality of composites in traditional applications, while also exploring new applications in healthcare, electronics, energy storage, and more.

  As we strive to address the urgent need for sustainable development and carbon reduction, our mission is to reduce the carbon footprint and environmental impact of composite materials. We are committed to developing green and sustainable solutions that not only meet the needs of today but also contribute to a better future.

The Joint Research Center launches the joint - PhD - training program of South China University of Technology and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, aiming to cultivate excellent scientific research talents to serve society.The research fields for enrollment are the common disciplinary areas of the two universities that are eligible for admitting doctoral students and awarding doctoral degrees.
