报告摘要:

  Thislecture discusses the incipient development of the biomimetic artificial waterchannels systems. We include only systems that integrate synthetic elements intheir water selective translocation unit. Therefore, we exclude peptidechannels because their sequences derive from the proteins in natural channels.We review many of the natural systems involved in water and related protontransport processes. We describe how these systems can fit within our primarygoal of maintaining natural function within bio-assisted artificial systems. Inthe last part, we present several inspiring breakthroughs from the last decadein the field of biomimetic artificial water channels. All these examplesdemonstrate how the novel interactive water-channels can parallel biomolecularsystems. At the same time these simpler artificial water channels offer a meansof understanding water structures useful for many biological scenarios.Moreover, they can be used for the preparation of highly selective membranesfor desalination.

报告人简介:

  Mihail Barboiu教授毕业于布加勒斯特理工大学,并于1998年在蒙彼利埃大学获得博士学位。他是CNRS-欧洲膜研究所的主任,也是英国皇家化学学会的会士。他的研究主要集中在动态化学,包括自适应仿生膜和传输装置等。Mihail Barboiu教授发表了350多篇科学论文,并进行了480多场会议和讲座。他曾于2004年获得化学领域的欧洲青年研究员奖(EURYI),并于2015年因开发人工水通道获得英国皇家化学学会的界面与表面奖。
