1. Engineering Organization of Molecules: Where Polymers, DNA, and Carbon Nanotubes Meet (林志伟博士)

摘要：

Macroscopic properties of materials are not only determined by the chemical composition of molecules, but also largely relevant to their hierarchal and large-scale organization. Engineering molecular systems with exquisite organization control represents a significant and intricate challenge. In this talk, the realization of such control will be discussed through engineering the organization of various molecular motifs ranging from polymers to DNA, and to carbon nanotubes (CNTs). These underlying motifs are sophisticatedly designed with precisely-defined architectures, programmable interactions, and customized functions. The design of motifs will be corelated to their organization control and resultant macroscopic properties. The relationship of composition-structure-property will be systematically revealed. Specifically, this presentation will cover three sections. First of all, precise synthesis and versatile assembly of giant molecules will be discussed. Then, engineering the large-scale organization of nanostructures based on DNA origami will be presented. Finally, I will talk about our recent efforts in DNA-controlled partition, functionalization, and application of single chirality CNTs.

报告人简介：

林志伟博士本科（2008年）和硕士（2011年）毕业于北京化工大学高分子科学与工程系；2016年在美国阿克伦大学取得高分子科学博士学位，研究方向为功能大分子的精确合成和多尺度精准组装；2017年至2019年在哥伦比亚大学化工系从事博士后研究工作，研究方向为DNA多维有序材料的构建与应用；2019年至2021年在美国国家标准与技术研究院（NIST）从事博士后研究工作，研究方向为高纯度单手性碳纳米管（CNTs）的分离、图案化修饰和应用。近年来，林志伟博士作为第一/通讯作者（含共一/共通）在化学和高分子学科的高水平期刊上发表研究论文13篇，其中包括J. Am. Chem. Soc. (4), Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. (3)，Nano Lett. (1) 和 Macromolecules (3) 等，并多次被J. Am. Chem. Soc.，Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 和 Nano Lett. 选为封面文章或热门文章。
