报告内容简介:
Small-angle X-ray scattering is a non-destructive methods conveniently designed for structural characterization of materials from nano- to micron scales. Recent developments of X-ray optic components, synchrotron radiation sources and laboratory SAXS instruments, complimented by a further progress in modelling and analysis, made SAXS technique one of the most reliable (and popular) for structural characterization of soft-matter materials. Moreover, further innovations in X-ray beam generation leading to a construction of high brilliance X-ray sources opened up a possibility to bring laboratory SAXS instruments to another level of capability which was achievable, until recently, only at synchrotron sources. These advances significantly expanded applications of laboratory SAXS instruments and provided more flexibility for in-house measurements which can be carried out on a wide range of materials at different processing conditions. A few SAXS case studies will be presented. In particular, an application of reciprocal space models and real space models together with contrast variation techniques for structural characterization of nanoparticles and colloidal systems will be demonstrated. Examples of time-resolved SAXS measurements of flow-induced crystallisation of semi-crystalline polymers, SAXS analysis of structural orientation of block-copolymers under large-amplitude oscillatory shear, time-resolved measurements of polimerization-induced self-assembly of copolymers during chemical reactions and thermally-induced morphological transformations of self-assembled block-copolymers as well as garzing-incidence X-ray scattering of crystallization kinetic of the organolead halide perovskites (photovoltaics used for solar cells) will be given.
