The Sino-Korean 6G Intelligent Communication and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) Frontier Seminar was successfully held in Seoul, South Korea

From November 6th to 7th, 2023, the Sino-Korean 6G Intelligent Communication and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) Frontier Seminar was successfully held in Seoul, South Korea. The Chinese representative was Professor Tang Jianhua from our institute, and the Korean representative was Professor Byonghyo Shim from Seoul National University. The seminar received joint funding from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF), representing the advanced levels of both countries in their respective fields of information and communication.

 


Professors Han Guangjie from Hohai University, Chang Zheng from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Qin Zhijin from Tsinghua University, Wang Jian from Fudan University, Kyunghan Lee from Seoul National University, Jemin Lee from Yonsei University, and Hyun Jong Yang from Pohang University of Science and Technology attended the conference. Professor Tang Jianhua presided over the meeting.

 

Both parties engaged in discussions on a series of cutting-edge issues in 6G intelligent communication and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). The seminar covered topics such as On the Role of AI in 6G, Multi-modal Semantic Communications for Multiple Tasks, and Dynamic Trust Management Mechanisms in Underwater Acoustic Sensor Networks. During the conference, Professor Tang Jianhua delivered a presentation titled Connectivity Maximization in Non-orthogonal Network Slicing enabled Industrial Internet-of-Things, introducing a series of latest research achievements in addressing the challenge of large-scale wireless access in future Industrial Internet of Things.

 


The seminar enhanced communication between China and South Korea in the field of information and communication on multiple levels, including academic exchanges between faculty and students, collaborative research projects, and joint research papers. It represents an important step for our institute towards organized internationalization in research.
